Hanrahan Joins Tackett as PBA Tour Advocates for BVL

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL) has announced that Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour champion Packy Hanrahan of Wichita, Kansas, will be the second PBA Tour Advocate for BVL.

Hanrahan, a two-time PBA Tour champion and member of Team USA, joins EJ Tackett as PBA Tour advocates for BVL. In January, BVL announced Tackett as the first person to fill the newly created position.

As a PBA Tour Advocate for BVL, Hanrahan will use his status as a PBA Tour champion and his position as one of bowling’s top social media influencers to help raise awareness of BVL while competing on tour. BVL is the official charity of the PBA.

Since forming in 1942, the BVL has funded a variety of programs, particularly in recreation therapy, that benefit veterans and those in active duty.

Hanrahan looks forward to joining Tackett in an effort to help support this worthy cause.

“When I was asked to be a part of BVL, I was excited to partner up and help promote such an impactful organization,” Hanrahan said. “I’ve had several family members and friends that have served in all branches of the military, and being able to help and show gratitude to those who have served was something that I didn’t have to think twice about. I’m excited to start this new partnership with BVL and continue to grow and promote the Bowlers To Veterans Link!”

Hanrahan, a 29-year-old two-hander who throws the ball from the left side, collected both of his PBA Tour titles during the 2023 season. His first win came at the PBA Kokomo (Ind.) Classic, and he added to that later in the year by teaming with Mitch Hupe to win the PBA Roth/Holman Doubles Championship in Middletown, Delaware.

“We’re excited for Packy to join BVL, using his passion for the sport and his influential social media platforms to connect with the next generation, ensuring the message of support and gratitude for veterans continues to inspire and grow,” said Nancy Schenk, BVL Chairperson.

In addition to his success on the PBA Tour, Hanrahan was named to Team USA for the first time last year, and he has certainly been making the most of his opportunities to win medals thus far during his Team USA career.

Hanrahan got his first chance to compete at the PANAM Bowling Elite Championships in Reno, Nevada, in August of 2024 and, not wanting to let the opportunity go to waste, he responded by collecting four gold medals (singles, doubles, team and all-events) and one silver (trios) during his debut performance representing the red, white and blue.

He followed that effort up with a bronze medal in Men’s Singles at the 2025 IBF World Cup in Hong Kong in January.

Hanrahan and the other players on the PBA Tour wrap up competition in the season’s third major, the United States Bowling Congress Masters, with live telecasts on FS1 (Saturday) and FOX (Sunday), both scheduled for noon Eastern.
